Description

Indulge in the rich, creamy goodness of this Classic Quiche Lorraine, a timeless French delicacy. This easy-to-make quiche features a flaky, buttery crust and a velvety custard-like filling with savory bacon and melted cheese. Perfect for any occasion, from elegant brunch to cozy weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

– 1 pre-made pie crust or 1 recipe homemade pie dough

– 6 large eggs

– 2 cups heavy cream

– 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese

– 6 slices cooked bacon, crumbled

– 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

– 1/4 teaspoon white pepper

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

2. Roll out the pie crust and gently press it into a 9-inch pie dish. Crimp the edges to create a decorative border.

3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, Gruyère cheese, crumbled bacon, nutmeg, white pepper, and salt until well combined.

4. Pour the egg mixture into the prepared pie crust.

5. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is lightly golden.

6. Allow the quiche to cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

– For a richer flavor, use a combination of Gruyère and Parmesan cheese.

– Experiment with different types of cheese or add-ins, such as caramelized onions or spinach.

– The quiche can be made in advance and reheated before serving.
