Description

These Frosted Gingerbread Brownies are a delectable treat that combine the warm, spicy flavors of gingerbread with the rich decadence of chocolate. Topped with a silky chocolate frosting, they’re a perfect holiday dessert or anytime indulgence.

Ingredients

– 1 cup all-purpose flour

– 1 teaspoon ground ginger

– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

– 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

– 1/4 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

– 1 cup granulated sugar

– 2 large eggs

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

– 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

– 1 cup confectioners’ sugar

– 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

– 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, baking powder, and salt.

3. In a separate large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until combined. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.

4. Sift the cocoa powder into the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.

5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.

6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the brownies to cool completely.

7. In a medium bowl, beat the confectioners’ sugar, softened butter, and milk until smooth and creamy. Spread the frosting over the cooled brownies.

8. Cut the frosted brownies into squares and serve. Enjoy!

Notes

For a more intense gingerbread flavor, you can increase the spices to 1 1/2 teaspoons ginger, 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon, and 1/2 teaspoon each of cloves and nutmeg. Refrigerate any leftover brownies for up to 5 days.
