Ingredients
– 8 ounces elbow macaroni
– 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
– 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
– 2 cups whole milk
– 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
– 1 cup shredded Gruyère cheese
– 1 pound cooked lobster meat, chopped into bite-sized pieces
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
3. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly, to create a roux.
4. Gradually pour in the milk, whisking continuously to prevent lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 5-7 minutes, until thickened.
5. Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the cheddar and Gruyère cheeses until they are melted and the sauce is smooth.
6. Add the cooked macaroni and lobster meat to the cheese sauce, and stir to combine.
7. Transfer the mixture to a 9×13-inch baking dish.
8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
9. Let the Lobster Mac & Cheese Melt cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a crispy topping, you can sprinkle breadcrumbs or crushed crackers on top before baking. You can also add a dash of paprika or cayenne pepper for a little extra flavor.
