Ingredients

– 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed

– 1/2 cup tomato sauce

– 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

– 2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese

– 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

2. Unfold the puff pastry sheet and cut it into 6 equal rectangles.

3. Spread a tablespoon of tomato sauce on each rectangle, leaving a 1/2-inch border.

4. Sprinkle the mozzarella and parmesan cheeses evenly over the sauce.

5. Starting from the short end, tightly roll up each rectangle to form a rose shape.

6. Place the rolled roses, seam-side down, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

8. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the chopped fresh basil.

9. Serve the Pizza Roses warm, with additional marinara sauce for dipping, if desired.

Notes

For a variation, try using different cheese blends or adding pepperoni or other pizza toppings. These Pizza Roses can be made ahead and reheated before serving.
